Year at Pleasant Hill Farm: December



Winter storm Euclid hit the day after Christmas bringing somewhere between 10-12" of snow.








I headed out for a spin through the woods and meadow on our old skis.



























While I was doing that, the kids decided to build a snow fort.


  Peter, the taskmaster, kept his siblings working for two hours, allowing periodic 15 minute breaks for sledding when they wearied of piling snow, compacting it, and then digging out the interior.






































Hot cocoa and the woodstove took care of the chill when they came in.





And in case you are wondering what the front hall looks like after six kids shed their snow things...
