For your encouragement: Karen Andreola's blog

If you have enjoyed reading A Charlotte Mason Companion, you should check out Karen Andreola's lovely blog. (Even if you have not yet read this book, her site is well-worth visiting.)

Karen and Dean Andreola, along with Susan Schaeffer Macauley (author of For the Children's Sake), are probably the individuals most responsible for bringing the ideas of Miss Mason to the attention of our generation. Mrs. Andreola's book, subtitiled "Personal Reflections on the Gentle Art of Learning" presents her interpretation of the Charlotte Mason philosophy. Even though our family's style of homeschooling is fairly eclectic, taking aspects from a variety of different homeschool streams, I have learned a great deal from Mrs. Andreola each time I have read this book.

Mrs. Andreola's blog feels like stepping into her home for a few moments of quiet conversation with a friend. Whether she is writing about homeschooling, her grandbabies, or needlework, I almost always feel refreshed after visiting there. Her current post is a wonderful reminder to keep lessons short but focused for young children. I found it encouraging and hope you might as well!
