Actually, there are many, many reasons we are thankful the Lord sent our first three children up north. Only one of these is the "salty" preservative effect the believing professors seem to have on the campus. We first noticed this when Andrew was a freshman. The professor in charge of the honors engineering program made clear he was a Christian when he introduced himself to the class at the beginning of the year. Later that year we smiled all through an awards banquet as the background piano music was entirely hymns and worship music, though some of the young men at our table disdained the time for silent prayer. Kristen, though, has met with the most Christian professors, and they have a profound impact on the hursing program at Purdue.

We're very thankful for the good roommates, too!
