J. C. Ryle: The Duties of Parents
A few weeks ago Pastor Bayly encouraged us to read works by J. C. Ryle, a godly Anglican bishop who lived from 1816-1900. His mention of Ryle jarred my memory. Hadn’t he written something about parenting which I’d intended to read but had never gotten around to? Happily Ryle’s The Duties of Parents, now in the common domain, is available online. This short little booklet contains what I think is some of the best child-rearing advice I’ve ever read. Print yourself a copy (mine is only 22 pages) and soak up these “words in season.”
