Family News Update
A few weeks ago Ben surprised his Wednesday night teachers by telling them he was going to have a new brother. They wondered if he was passing on some rather exciting news about his gray-haired mother. And while that would be very happy news indeed, Ben was thinking about a new BIG brother, in fact his brother-in-law-to-be. He went on to clarify his announcement by saying, “And his name is going to be Collin!” (Gotta love his use of tense.)
And while this probably isn’t news to many of you, I thought I should bring more distant readers up on our family news. In January, Collin, whom Tim and I have come to love this past year as a son, proposed to Kara. Theirs is a beautiful love story of how God brought them together, but as it is their story and not mine, you should ask them about it!
I’ll just say this. Among Kara’s first words to me after meeting Collin were these, “Dad told me it would be totally different when I met a man with vision, and it is!” In April I wrote a post about strong women which was really a letter addressed to Kara as she wondered if there would be a man for whom she was suitable. How amazing it is to see God’s provision of Collin for Kara, and she for him. Recently I was going through an old prayer notebook and was struck by how graciously God has answered prayers of many years. It should give me encouragement to be more disciplined in prayer than I am. He surely is able to do “to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think”!
Ephesians 3:20,21 Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.
P.S. We’d love to see any of you who can make it to the wedding on June 14!
